Slow news day, so I thought it would be interesting to go down LSU's projected starting lineup and see what the pre-season perception was on how much LSU's players have fulfilled their percieved potential. For example, it is fairly apparent that J. Russell is an amazing talent, but he has only realized about 30% of his potential. We saw flashes in the Cap One bowl, but not close to fully realizing his college potential. IMO, examples of players that reached 100% of their college potential are: Michael Clayton, Josh Reed, Chad Lavalais. I would also be interested to see how people rate each player for the highest possible round that they could be drafted by the NFL. I.e. J. Russell if he reached 100% of his potential could easily be a 1st round pick. However, IMO Skyler Green is probably a 3rd/4th round pick at best because he is undersized at WR, and teams typically dont draft special teams guys too high.

So, let me start with some of the offense:

QB - J Russell (1st round talent) 30% realized potential
    RB - A Broussard (1st) 60%
    RB - J Addai (2nd) 60%

If he has a big season, green will go higher than you think. With the new contact rules in the NFL, alot of teams are starting to look at smaller, quicker wideouts because they no longer have to muscle their way through DBs..

I know I was stepping into dangerous territory as soon as I said that any LSU player would not go in the first round. Bear in mind that this is all conjecture. I would love to see where other people have our players pegged. Also interesting to see where these projections match up in next years draft for those that declare.

Just thought of a good rule for this thread (but sadly unenforceable). If you want to comment on another persons rankings, you should first post your own rankings. I think that that is fair.

    Very interesting post.

I would disagree on Addai and say he has, I would say, about 75% of his potential realized. I think if he were the only back we had, he would be getting 1100 a season regularly...

EDIT: Just read your post about posting my own rankings first...Sorry, didn't see that. Will come up with something.

    J Russell: 15% talent realized
    Addai: 75%
    Broussard: 60%
J Vincent: 50% ( I still think this guy has all the potential in the world and besides his freshmen year, hasn't realized it).
    S Green: 80%
    Dwayne Bowe: 45%
    Early Doucet: 20%
    Xavier Carter: 20%

Isn't all sports commentary opinion? I'm not sure what your point is?

Absolutely not. I have 100% accuracy in all my sports talk and opinions. This is why I'm in 9th place out of 10 in both of my baseball leagues.
