I'm very tired of the annual Nick Saban coach-watch. This has gotten very old. He was just made the most highly-paid coach in college football in a lengthy contract and has been given basically everything he wants in terms of facilities and upgrades without care for cost. In return for that, we get, at a minimum, dragged through another two weeks of uncertainty about the coaching situation while the recruits wonder who's going to be at the helm next year. At worst, following said uncertainty we lose Saban and end up with a new coach. How about a little f'n loyalty?

Imagine what the Cap One Bowl is going to be like if this isn't settled by then. Our 4-hour national recruiting commercial will turn into a discussion among the announcers of the uncertainty surrounding the coaching job. "Broussard busts up the middle for a 46-yard touchdown run, but, you know Bob, with all the uncertainty about whether Nick Saban will return next year, it is a wonder he can focus on the game."

LSU should start interviewing replacements NOW. We're already in a position where most of the available big names are off the market. Nick seems to keep his options perpetually open; so should we.:lsug:

unfortunately, saban's contract allows his agent to shop his services to NFL teams before Jan 1. you can't just start looking for a coach when the coach is still under contract. do you want be perceived as badly as Auburn for the fiasco they pulled last year on tubberville? you pull those shennanigans and LSU will never get a quality candidate to replace saban if he were to leave.

If he's shopping, why can't we. We'll interview, and

when Saban calls off the dogs, so will we. Put it this way, if I told my boss today that I interviewed for a job yesterday, I'd find five candidates in the lobby tomorrow waiting to interview for my job. Why should coaching be any different? :geaux:

We still have a coach, and until we dont I would say no....

I to am weary of this annual stress fest.. BUT Until Saban says he is leaving he is still the greatest coach in my lifetime at LSU and I will continue to hang his picture in my office next to my picture of Ronald Reagan...

    I didn't say Saban wasn't a good coach. He's probably

the best in the business right now, and I respect that. I don't respect the annual flirtations with the NFL.
