LSU can't ask for any better, and with LSU's road before it including at least two ranked teams in its last 4 games, surely no one can surpass them, and surely no one can claim that-if they win out-that they had played two straight games with division and conference titles on the line and perservered. But, remember, Tiger fans... The University of Miami was not defeated, but pasted by a what now looks like a quite pedestrian Virginia Tech team two weeks ago. In the next edition of the BCS rankings, Miami was still ranked ahead of the Hokies. Va Tech has now lost to West Virginia and a 21st ranked Pitt club. Miami has now lost to Virignia Tech and 17th ranked Tennessee. Florida State has now lost to Miami and Clemson. USC has lost to an unranked sub-.500 team in triple overtime with their backup quarterback. LSU has lost to the University of Florida, who's beaten 3 top 10 teams on the road in a row in consecutive weeks. I'm sorry, but there is no way possible that any writer with a vote in the Associated Press NCAA Division One College Football Poll that there are any better teams than Louisiana State University other than the University of Oklahoma. I'll also say this...This is of course a big if If LSU wins out, the Sooners don't scare me. Not their defense. Not their offense. Not their special teams. Not their coaching. Not their fans. Not their uniforms. Not their quarterback. Not their Clayton. Not their Tommie Harris. NONE OF THEM SCARE ME!
TE..I agree with you on most of your comments on OU. They will have no competition until the Sugar Bowl, not even in the Big 12 championship game. i think they have Baylor and Texas Tech left this year, then the Big 12 CC. Their offense is not that great. White is an average QB. Their Defense is good though, and that is what scares me. Lets hope we get there and see how things pan out.
Their defense is good against who? The likes of whom? I'm sorry, but they're in the heads of UT...and Texas A&M? Trust me...Have you seen them play this year? They aren't exactly lighting it up. When your team surrenders 77 points, it's not that the other team is so much better, it's just that your team has lost its pride and lost its ability to fight. LSU lost 58-3, I'll admit, and they did that at home. But, I saw pieces of that game where you had their players literally giving up on routes that went for scores, then turning around and showboating on the rare occassion when they stopped the Sooners.
I'm imagining the amount of "intensity" that the Tigers are going to bring out of this bye week to Bryant Denny. To know that they're going to try to take away from LSU the meaning of their season. Bama will get chewed up and defecated out on the way to our "date with destiny". We beat Archie's red headed ass back when he was a cast wearing, big nosed, Archie Who (you know, back before he sold Southern Siding on Sundays?)... We will ANNIHILATE Eli and his band of wannbe ballplayers in a surrealistic and ironic twist of fate...Just when Eli brings his father's alma-mater back to prominence, and the cusp of greatness, LSU and its modern day champions will POUND THEM BACK INTO MEDIOCRITY!!!!!! On the bandwagon right now, people. I'm not looking ahead here. But, Alabama is details. Ole Missy and Arkansucks are the means to the end here. We aren't going to lose another game THIS YEAR. We're on a MISSION, and NOT the kind that BYU Quarterbacks go on!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see ohio state leapfrog us. Doesn't matter, though. The way the stupid BCS works, ohio state needs to lose another game, anyway. :geaux:
