LSU needed a game after dropping Troy St and moving the Arizona game back one week because they did not want the same thing to happen next yr that happend in Blacksburg. They needed a warmup game before Arizona. I just talked to a ULM coach that confirmed that ULM was a done deal to come to LSU next and in 2004.
If so, that's a good move. The decision to push the Arizona game back a week indicated a desire to have a "warm up" game the week before. ULM is a good warm up game to start the year. We follow that with a trip to Tuscon, home games against Marshall and Georgia, then a trip to Starkvegas before the first bye week. Next year's schedule will be no cakewalk by any means. Here it is (with the first game still TBA) from the LSU website: http://www.lsusports.net/fb/fbschedule.cfm?groupcode=2003&title=2003 LSU Football Schedule
What's your source? Where are you hearing this? The ULM folks hopefully will bring a good crowd. Maybe they can also promote this next year to help their own sales of season tickets. They are having an attendance problem. As long as they play this better than ULL did, it will help us and them.
