From the Daily Report of the BR Business Report:

Ticket hike: It's going to cost more to watch LSU basketball play good teams. Tapping into an idea that's gained popularity on the sports landscape, LSU's Board of Supervisors approved a variable price ticketing policy for the men's hoops squad. In what amounts to the first price increase in eight years, fans will pay an extra $2 to see the Tigers play Southeastern Conference foes and "premium" nonconference opponents. "We needed to increase prices," said Dan Radakovich, senior associate athletic director, "but we generally confined it to SEC games." Most other conference schools implemented a similar policy several years ago and Major League Baseball is also embracing the variable-price ticketing philosophy. Why? Supply and demand - the same philosophy that motivates movie theaters and restaurants to lower prices during non-peak hours. In LSU's case, it also answers fans that have complained about the quality of basketball's nonconference schedule. Athletic director Skip Bertman makes the call on which non-SEC home games will be designated as premium next season. Utah and, perhaps, Tulane are likely choices. LSU has yet to finalize next year's schedule. Ticket prices will increase from $13 to $15 for lower-level seats, from $12 to $14 for midlevel seats, and from $10 to $12 for upper-level seats in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

They should lowe the prices for the garbage games like the ones against Centenary or Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Thats a good idea. I'm willing to pay a little extra for a ticket to an LSU - Kentucky game if I can pay a little less for a ticket to an LSU - Nicholls State game.

I believe Brady mentioned Utah coming to BR. Granted they aren't top-tier but they are close. They were in the NC game just a few years ago.
