Sorry if this brings up any unpleasent memories but does anyone have a picture of LSU wearing the purple football pants. I don't remember what they look like. Hey, how about we wear our white helments, purple jerseys, and purple pants. That would look cool. lol
Who did they play with Purple Pants? I just never want that crap they wore at the Indy Bowl White Pants White jersey and White Helment they looked like Southern's North team.
If I remember correctly it was at Kentucky with white helmets also. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, that game was so bad I'm trying to forget as much of it as I can.:geaux: :lsug:
The purple pants game was at Kentucky. Looked like something a figure skater should wear. LSU's players were so mortified they went out and played one of the worst games of the Gerry DiNardo era.
I called the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy crew and they informed me that we can never wear the purple pants again...
We wore the regular white jerseys, solid purple pants with a tiger head logo on the top of the right leg and the regular "gold" helmet. The date was October 14, 1995, and we lost in Lexington. The game included a pooch kickoff by UK that they recovered. It was one of those games that it just never seemed as if we were mentally in it. The purple pants never reappeared after that night, and were burned some time later.
The purple pants were universally panned. Ugly, ugly, ugly. They didn't even have a stripe, they looked like leotards. DiNardo admitted the mistake and said they would NEVER be used again. You young guys have to trust us on this: NO to white helmets. NO to yellow jerseys. HELL NO to purple pants.
