There is a huge difference in being fit enough for practices and scrimmages and being fit enough to finish a game strong. Tennessee was obviously in better shape than LSU and the results of the 2nd half clearly show that.

I think LSU only playing one game and having such a layoff between the 1st and 2nd game had a huge impact on this phase of the game. Tennessee had played 3 games before last night and no off week before the game.

Granted, this doesn't change our scared 2nd half playcalling and coaching in general, but it did have something to do with the way UT came back.

it's funny how those 7 minute drives do that to your defense, huh?

i disagree. i didnt see out of shape players. in fact i thought the D played some of their best late in the game. we clearly substituted in many players too.

btw. no 7 minute drives for UT. the only one close to that in 2nd half was 5:30.

agree the defense was on the field all night due to design. wasn't the players being out of shape or playing poorly.

certainly wasnt lack of effort either.

Are you serious? How many points did UT score in the 4th quarter? How many of our guys were cramping versus UT guys? Why do you think we had to sub so many guys into the game, especially on defense? I saw guys playing last night whose number I'd never seen on the field before.

UT was in much better shape than LSU. Watch the replay whenever it comes up and see our guys cramping and just playing slower as the game went on.

Well if your offense doesn't even show up for the game, then of course your defense is going to get tired. 3-and-out everytime is not enough rest for your defense. The Defense was tasked to win the game in the 2nd half. Miles sat on it, and the defense had to do it alone without the help from the offense. If I was on Defense, I would be pissed at Miles for asking so much of them.

Your joking right I have NEVER seen someone LSU players get cramps in a game. They are very much out of game shape.
