    In an effort to compare "apples to apples", here are the offensive comparisons from the "high water mark" of 2003 to today's 10-1 edition of the Tigers. Defense to follow!

    All the stats look about the same from year to year. The one that surprises me the most is Turnovers/game it is down from the pass two years.

    The passing stats are the most telling.. Mauck was twice the QB JR is now and Clayton was 5 times the reciever any of our wideouts are..

    Clayton was 5 times the man any of our WR's are.

    What's apples & apples about this comparison?

    2003 was a very veteran offense (except Vincent).

    And that's the point. I'ts amazing to me the similarities of these 3 yrs worth of stats, from the watershed year of 2003 to the winning ugly 2005 edition,

    176 less rushing attempts from 2003. We also ran 269 less offensive plays from 2003. All the other stats look pretty similar.

    but factor in 3 more games (as of today) in 2003
