LSU NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION TO BE HELD IN TIGER STADIUM ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 24

BATON ROUGE ‚ The 2003 LSU football team, college footballís national champions, will be honored in a ceremony at Tiger Stadium on Saturday, January 24, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The event will be held after the Tigers participate in "The Parade of Champions" in downtown Baton Rouge, a procession that concludes at the State Capitol and includes the Southern University football team.

The National Championship Celebration at Tiger Stadium will include the presentation of bowl game and championship trophies to the LSU football team, video highlights of the football season, performances by the Tiger Marching Band and comments from University officials as well as head coach Nick Saban and Tiger players.

The day will conclude with the hoisting of a new National Championship flag to fly over Tiger Stadium.

LSU advises fans that, due to the expected large attendance, this event is not intended to be an autograph opportunity (sorry coach Carroll). LSU encourages fans to bring still and video cameras to record the event for their remembrance of the occasion.

The Parade of Champions will begin at noon at the corner of Spanish Town Road and North Fourth Street. The parade will proceed south on North Fourth Street, turn right at North Boulevard, then roll north on Third Street until concluding with a ceremony at the State Capitol.

It came striaght from lsusports.net - there are only two words I added. Haven't checked if they tied this in to a home basketball game yet, though I imagine they did. I'd have to guess 5-10,000 at the stadium.
