Lookin on the gator forums, and they're givin major props to LSU. This is the longest thread on their board. http://mb21.scout.com/fufinsiderfrm5.showMessage?topicID=40402.topic I personally believe LSU is more physical and talented than Ohio State. The Auburn game was one of the best defensive efforts by LSU I've seen in a long time. We have a nasty D, no doubt. And as for OSU, they are in for a surprise, UF has taken advantage of many "gifts" but overall they have underachieved all year...while they might not play a perfect game, they will be ready and I think they'll win. Ohio State's offense has looked unstoppable but they haven't played anyone with the overall team speed of Florida.
I don't think I've ever seen LSU get more love...that includes this board. Props to the Gators for defending a fellow SEC team.
Auburn's offense was brutal in that game, Cox was terrible and we stacked the run to stop Irons, which we did a good job doing but not good enough. i think last season against Florida was the best i have seen this defense play. That being said, if Florida moves the ball as well as they did in the SECCG and gets big plays from Harvin and Caldwell, and Leak doesn't screw up I could definitely see a Gator victory.
I only live about an hour and a half away from OSU, so I get to hear about how great they are all the time. Its disgusting. One of my friends actually told me that OSU wouldnt have to punt the entire game. Nobody up here takes Florida seriously. I don't know if Florida will win, but I sure as hell think it'll be closer than anyone up here thinks it will be.
We could argue all day long about who's more physical and who's more talented. The fact is both LSU and tOSU are impressive at both. On Florida, tOSU isn't going to win the game because of the "superior talent" issue. They'll win (if they win) because they're are more consistent and less prone to have lapses. The one thing that does impress me about Florida (I get to live in Florida with 'em, yikes!) is the way the ball "has bounced" for them all year. You see it a couple of times and you call it luck. Then you see it happening more and you call it fate. tOSU lived on "fate" weekly in their run in 2002. They were as unimpressive as the Gators have often looked this year. So. I, for one, don't take Florida lightly. They are a conference Champion and I fully expect them to play like one.
The most important thing about the National Championship Game is that it is another opportunity to watch a college football game AND throw a party ! IF both team play their best I give the edge to Florida. However, as pointed out above, Florida hasn't always played very well. Can't imagine they wouldn't be ready for this game though. We shall see.
I think we're more physical than most midwest schools. It's a whole different style. That's why I think OSU did so well this year. they have speed for once and in the Big Ten, it's a whole new ball game. We'll see how the go up against an even faster defence. I still think Florida can win.
:hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: ... that is truly funny.... not the "I still think Florida can win", because I also think it will be "a game"... but the whole perception, as if Woody is still strollin' the sidelines.
My thoughts exactly. I wish Florida the absolute best in the NC game and hope the SEC wins another :crystal: .
I hope the football team goes into the game with that kind of attitude. If they do Florida will walk out the victor.
