http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2948275 How memorable would it be to travel to Ann Arbor and have the Wolverines on the OTHER side of Miles? Would Miles accept an offer to play against UM?
I have a question......why is it sometimes called a "Home and Home" and, others, a "Home and Away"? From Bill Martin/Michigan's perspective in talking about this game- shouldn't they be calling it a "Home and Away"? I see it used both ways and was just wondering. As far as the game, it may help recruiting but I just as soon not bring Miles around there more than we have to.
Wouldn't it be up the AD to accept the offer? Not that I think Miles would say no. I'd love to play UM, though I'd prefer to plat them in Tiger Stadium.
I can't see how an AD can schedule games without input from a Coach. I think there will be many teams trying to fill that open spot left by Notre Dame. I believe ND has already filled theirs with North East Houston State Auxillary Naval Academy, no wait they said Oklahoma I was just following their trend of opponents. Anyhow guess it doesn't matter you could say away and away if you are nuetral same as Home and Home .. think you get the Home and Away when you get someone who is preferential to a team. Right now truth of the matter is LSU is equal if not greater to Michigan in terms of College football, I can't see where that could drag Miles away. I know he's from the area and all but he's got a good thing now.
I doubt Michigan would play us. For some reason the Big 10 big boys don't want to take on any of the SEC big boys. I would love the matchup, I don't think these two schools have ever played each other in football.
The AD plays a part in scheduling but is not at the forefront. I cant remember the name of the guy at LSU who handles the scheduling but I know he has said Miles plays a big role along with him.
The whole debate about tough conference schedule, and a bunch of 1-AA fillers, I would love for us to take the lead on scheduling home and home (home and away) with at least one big time oponent every year. And to really mix it up. Top two of every conference. Now that would be the S&^tt.
If that ever did happen, I would make it a priority to get to Ann Arbor for (most likely) a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
It would be cool to play Michigan for sure but do you guys really think Miles would go to UM to coach one day? Seems likely to us, but if you listen to the UM fans online, they surely seem to dislike him. Hard to pin them down about it too. I wonder if it is an accurate gauge of their fan base.
