    First of all, good game.

But, I don't think LSU even needs to even worry about SC. LSU has the inside track on #2, and will play for the NC. Plus, LSU has an easier road to the NC with all its tough games at home while SC has to go on the road for its tough games.

    Yea, both of them. :hihi:

I really couldn't care less if we're #1 (though I guess deep down it would be a bit gratifying.) This will all sort itself out through the season -- which I shouldn't need to remind folks that the season is very long.

No way do we pass USUCK in the polls, USUCK had a bye week and LSU did nothing spectacular in the eyes of the media to warrant moving them up in the polls. Beware though, Oklahoma may pass us up after Herbstriets comments. Just an observation from an old fool, let it play out where they have no choice but to give us the nod, THE TIGAHS LOOK VERY STRONG!!!!

Herbie said at the end of the game that he would vote USC #1, LSU #2, and OU #3 so I think we'll be fine with that.

And no one has mentioned it since The Debacle and Ensuing Meltdown in Michigan, but...Gameday last week at VT explained WHY USC was preseason #1. They said, and I quote, "USC dismantled Michigan in the Rose Bowl, so they deserve #1."

    Hmmm.

I think this argument, which you share with Herbie, is BS. It totally negates the quality of the competition. The SEC teams coming to Tiger Stadium are a quantum leap stronger than virtually any team USC will play, with the possible exception of the Bears. Yes, playing in TS gives us an edge, but the schedule the Tigers must face is much stronger. AND we have to survive a championship game, probably against a team we've played before. There is no true comparison.

They are making it close. I don't think it matters right now. It is week 2. The problem some of us may be having is that these guys just seem to be #1 because. In two weeks, what have they done? Beat an Idaho team who came to L.A. looking for a paycheck and then had an off-week. It wasn't the Condoms' fault that they had an off-weak, but if you are looking at the teams straight up after week 2, I think people would be hard-pressed to keep the Condoms #1. That said, I expect them to stay at #1. I think LSU closes the gap a bit, that's all. :(

Actually in a pre-game interview he said he's pretty sure we're the best team in the country. I'm sure he's a little more certain now.

I think it's crazy that USC will most likely stay #1. What have they shown? Honestly they weren't even that impressive in their only game. I know they're good but why do they deserve #1? I'd place LSU and OU in front of them for now
