LSU handed the PMAC over from the academic side of the university to the athletic department. The first thing they will do is spend $600,000 to fix the roof. We all know how ugly it looks now. Other improvements to be completed are spending $200,000 to dress up the Maravich Center. Proposals call for photo murals and banners of LSU athletes to be placed at the arena's entrances, some of which would likely include advertising. They also want to build a statue of Pistol Pete in front of the PMAC. The seats will also be replaced in favor of ones that would be a few inches wider. This would decrease the capacity some. There are even talks about putting suites at the upper part of the PMAC. They will also spend money to do a massive upgrade of the concourse. All I can say about this is it is about time. Fixin the PMAC
The seats need to be updated because they are so damn ugly and nasty. There are plenty of "mystery stains" on many of the seats.
It's about time... It really needs it. How big is the statue supposed to be? Where is it going to be? South Side?
Great turn of events. Don't look for any immediate improvements though they don't take "ownership" for a little over a year.
