This BCS Baloney is inconsequential, my friends...

We have to worry about how this team will come out of a bye week. The past two bye weeks this team has received, it's come out and laid eggs. Witness the Bama game last year at home (31-0 shutout), and the UF game this year (The 19-7 stinker).

We need to worry about how our team's going to come out against inferior competition. Thusfar this year, when we've faced lesser opponents coming off of a week off, we are not exactly batting 1.000

We need to focus on the SEC West race, the SEC overall situation, and leave the BCS to the Thomas "Neo" Anderson computer geek's out there to the pundits.

We are the #4 team in the nation, my friends. All in front of us save for Numero Uno have rough roads and weak schedules and poor losses to weigh them down.

We control our own destiny, and we have goals left to be met. The ranking is nice, but I doubt we'll make a BCS bowl if don't win the West. I don't think we will if we lose the SECCG, either. Let's focus on the tasks at hand before we go off like a cacaphony of cloned Chicken Littles here this evening...

We are all worried about why we are 7th in the BCS but we have other things to worry about. How about how the team will come out in two weeks against Bama. What if we lay a big fat egg there, then what. All we need to do if focus on the task at hand, winning one game at a time. If we do this then things will fall into place at the end of the season. It does not matter that your Number 1 in the BCS right now. All that matters is what the rankings are on Dec. 8th. That being said JUST WIN BABY, JUST WIN.

I want to see LSU stand up and serve notice to the Football Gods that it will be impossible to keep us out of the BCS Championship game if we take care of business in the next three and SECCG. We will be 11-1 and have just come off wins over Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and the SECCG.

I think something that works in LSU favor is we do have a SEC championship game.

If/When we take care of our business i would hate to be BCS and not take us to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. USC does not have a Championship game and i have to tell you. The PAC 10 Sucks.

I saw Washington State / Stanford and they are so overrated. Stanford sucks and they made a game of it.

They dont get that extra game and a chance to prove themselve against a quality opponent. Geez why did those Bauburnites have to lay an egg when they played USC.

Auburn screws us again the sorry wimps.

I think LSU just needs to focus and take care of their own business and let the rest come out in the wash.

Now the most important game of the season is Alabama. Given our record after a bye week, I definitely think it should give the team something to think about.

I'll be thrilled if we get to the SECCG and win. If the BCS gods don't grant us the national championship game, I'll still say thank you St. Nick and see you next year!

Everybody definitely needs to stop getting wrapped up in the BCS rankings. You'll complain on and on about it then what, we'll lose to alabama or arkansas and it won't even matter then. We need to forget that and remember there's alot of football to be played.

I'll lay 100 bucks down right now and say the top 6 six isn't going to be the same by the end of the season. You can count on that.

TE..... that may be the most astute post I've read during my short time visiting this board. I can tell you first hand, that alot of the Auburn players became "enchanted" with the exuberant fan and media reactions (translation: "too big for their britches") and lost sight of their specific goals. You'd like to think that a whipping like AU got from USC or an upset of LSU by a lesser UF team would be a learning experience - not to lose focus again. But it routinely happens, even to good teams. Auburn has a talented, skilled team but has routinely been poorly prepared to meet the challenges that the best teams offer.

Don't let it happen to LSU.....it's a hard fall indeed.

    Great post Cadillac.....

Good news is none of us PLay for our respective clubs. So hopefully this is just the fans going BCS and SEC crazy and the teams (Both Tigers) focus on the next game.

I'm not paying much attention to the BCS stuff now but maybe at a later date. You guys all made good points. Just wanted to add that if LSU wins out and doesn't make it to the Sugar, something like a Michigan/LSU matchup in the Rose Bowl would be killer.

I'm just hoping that this whole mess of 1 loss teams whining about the BCS would make a strong enough push to get a playoff in place. Can you imagine an 8 team playoff with the first round game at the higher seed's venue (Tiger Stadium if LSU is a top 4 seed) and the rest of the games (only 3 total) being incorporated into the Bowls on a rotating basis? You could still keep the lesser bowls as they are. This could even give a team like TCU a chance to sneak in as a #8 seed if they go undefeated. I'm sure there are some other logistics to evaluate but does anyone see a major problem with this type of playoff idea?

P.S. I've heard many variations and this one is my favorite. I'm just repeating someone else's model.
