I rarely post here at TF.

A few of you know that both my wife and I work in Sports Radio here in Texas.

It just hit me tonight, how much LSU football means to both of us.

Since I was a kid, watching Tommy Hodson dismantle defenses. I realized that Tiger Football means a lot more to me other than simply just a football game.

It gives me a way to talk to my dad, about a common subject. In these post-Katrina days, I don't take that for granted any longer.

It gives me a way to talk to my grandfather, who which I don't don't have a lot in common, yet he can tell me about Billy Cannon's Halloween run.

It gives me a way to get away from the corporate jungle for a few hours each week.

It gives me a way to realize that it's not just a game for Tiger fans, but a way of life.

It gives me a few hours on each Saturday, to complete forget about everything except one thing.

    Tiger Football.

So let this people post about the time of the games, who should be the starting QB, and what the BCS will do.

Just give me a way a few hours each Saturday to complete lose myself.

Let me sing along to the Pregame LSU song, two hours before kickoff, no matter how my wife looks at me.

Let me get goosebumps when I see the Tiger Band take the field.

Let me yell at the TV when I can't be in Tiger Stadium.

Let me wave my arms in respect to the Chinese Bandits when it's 4th down.

Let me spell out Tigers, every time we score a TD.

Just let me be a Tiger Fan.

That's the only constant that many of us have. We pull for the Tigers, or like they like to say in BR. Da' Tigah's

I don't care if many think this post is too sappy. It doesn't change the fact that there is no other team that fires me up each and every Saturday.

In my job, I'm supposed to be neutral. I'm not supposed to pull for any other team more than the next. But it can't be done.

    I'm a Tiger Fan.

So for as many people want to believe that football or any other sport is not a part of the healing process. They evidently haven't been to Tiger Stadium on a Saturday Night, and realized that it's not just a football game. It's a way of life.

    Give 'em hell Tigers.

Thanks PB, nice sentiment. Ever since Brad Davis fell over the pylon with a Bert Jones pass and no time left to beat Ole Miss I have been a Tiger. I was fortunate enough at age 14 to witness the USC game and since that game I have been madly addicted. The goosebumps are working again and the sweet feeling that LSU Football is almost here. Thanks again for putting it all into perspective.

Sometimes I think I am over the top about LSU. Thanks for bringing me back to earth.

    Hello
I know what you mean. I live in the Tampa, florida area. It sucks with all of the FSU, Miami, and UF fans around here. I am and always will be a Die hard Tiger fan. That is why today I have to move all of my breakable items to anouther room so I down't get made and throw them. But is is worth every penny of it. All week I have been playing my LSU cd. When people pull up next to my truck they look at me weird. So I play my horn that plays the LSU fight song. With everything that has happen in the past year it will feel so great to take a break for 3 hours and only think about LSU.
Talking with Tim Brando about how he can stay so calm broadcasting LSU games. He told me when his mic is off and when the camera is not on him. He is hooting and holloring just like the rest of us. Got to love it. :helmet:
