The coldest I've ever been was inside of one following a HS basketball game in Nashville. I swear we'd crossed the state line back into AL before starting to thaw.
Scott with Dandy Don emailed me back and stated he was wrong on what he originally posted. The team is flying out Friday for next week's game, not the day of the game. That seems to make a lot more sense because I'm almost positive that the bowl picks up all travel expenses. I just hope the team has a blast with all the fun events scheduled and come out game day ready to show out on national television. Geaux Tigers!
Bowl Game Payouts are Practically a Small Fortune in College Football | Fanbuzz After reading the linked article, it doesn't appear as though the bowls pay participating teams directly. It looks like the money goes to conferences of the participating schools and the conferences then pay its member schools. As far as travel expenses I'm not sure if the conference or the team pays the expenses.
I'm actually excited to see this game. I know we're missing a lot of players, but I'm excited to see a lot of young players perform under the bright lights. This game really doesn't mean anything, but I'm happy for the players who continued to work hard all season and didn't bail on the team. I have a feeling we're going to be surprised with some of the younger players who haven't had their chance yet. Also, this is the last time we're going to see LSU football for several months, so we better enjoy it while we can!
