First off I would like to say good job for the series win this weekend. Yes our average team aka best team on paper is still in the hunt. I AM GIVING THIS TEAM CREDIT THIS WEEKEND FOR THE 2 WINS BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE WON 3. But I want to know what is going on? I recently viewed 2 interview by LSU starters on a local television station on Thursday of last week. They both made statements phrasing SMOKE likes for us to do this, SMOKE likes for us to take this approach. What the hell? Yes maybe i'm not the biggest supporter of the guy but it seems to me that these pre madonna player should atleast have enough respect for the guy to call him Coach Smoke or Coach Lavall. That crap makes me sick. No excuse for a player to be calling a coach smoke. I never remembered Todd Walker, Russ Johnson or any other LSU greats calling Coach Bertman Skip. Now on the series. I personally like the way Kentucky plays the game of baseball. They can lay down bunts when they need to and do the other small things. If they just had a little talent over there they would be really tough because they are very well coached. Us on the other hand can't hit cut off men and won't lay out for a ball if our life depended on it. I just don't think we are capable of doing the little things to be able to go deep in a regional and super regional if we would be lucky enough to get to a SR. Again congrats on the series win but somebody needs to give these player a gut check and have some heart. Its a game of baseball. Have fun and play like you want to be out there. Did you see that awesome play where our right fielder layed out to catch a ball in foul territory today? That was pretty amazing wasn't it? Hey did you see that nice bunt down the first base line today too? Yawn I can understand that opinion actually. I think LSU has the pitching and hitting to at least get to a SR though. It's winning a SR I worry about. Yeah, they need to get their head into the game. Get off the bench during innings and cheer on their teammates on the field and in the batters box. Oh wait, they stand up in front of the dugout all game long cheering on their teammates. Seeing their faces you can see them live and die with every pitch , every time the bat makes contact with the ball, etc etc... But against Kentucky, they need to be sweeping series. They did a good job this weekend but I am just saying that the little things will cost them in the future.
So who is at fault for that? Is it Dirks for having his first game in a long time? Or is it Smoke for allowing Dirks to have a bad game? :dis: :thumb:
Good deal.....I guess we just have different opinions. If everybody agreed on here it would be a boring website. :geauxtige I guess some people just think the little things are a lil more important that others.
I hate to tell you but those 2 3 run bombs that Kentucky hit could have been avoided if we would have made the plays in the field to get out of the inning before. But I guess you didn't see that either. Please forgive me.
