A Tulane Alum just sent me this via email. If he were standing here I would punch him in the gut - since he's not, I guess I can have a sense of humor on a Friday afternoon...
10. Beat Centenary in Shreveport Funny, but it sucks that Tulane is now the top team in the sate and country.
I don't know, but I think it's pretty sad that that guy's a Tulane alum, and that's the best "put down" he can come up with. It all seems like logical goals to me. I think the guy was just trying to be serious, and he didn't intend it as a joke.
Tulane is not the best program in the state. They were the best team this year. Our program is still much better than theirs. What Skip built won't be lost by one down year by us and an extremely good year by Tulane. Next year order will be restored and Tulane will suck. It is the natural order of things.
Tulane has a good baseball team, that lucked out this year. LSU had a good bseball team that was very unlucky this year. Tulane isn't anywhere ahead of LSU in anything other then academics, and even thats questionable sometimes. Tulane will not make the CWS and then all the fans throwing out Rick Jones, best team in La, etc... will have nothing to bitch about. Tulane may be more fundamentally sound and have a little better pitching then LSU, but we had more power and more weight on our shoulders to succeed. Get off the Tulane revolutionizing baseball kick, its old and a load of bull****. add: If you want to argue that "Tulane beat LSU twice this year", I will come back with Kansas City Royals swept the Yankees... who do you think is the better team out of those two ?
When Tulane actually does something in the CWS, then I will listen to their fans talk about baseball. Until then, they should learn to shut up and do something before they act as if they are a premier team
