Fri 19 – 6:30 p.m. CT Sat 20 – 7:00 p.m. CT -- TELEVISED ON FSN (38 in Baton Rouge) Sun 21 – 1:00 p.m. CT Mainieri: “Anytime you’re playing an SEC team, especially on the road, you have to be prepared for a tremendous challenge,” said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. “Alabama has a lot of very young, talented ball players, and we have the utmost respect for (Alabama coach) Mitch Gaspard and his program. They have an excellent starting rotation and a great closer, so we’re going to have to be focused and ready to play at our best in order to beat them .” Alabama Saturday starter Justin Kamplain...Is he looking forward to the challenge v LSU? "Absolutely," he said. "That's why you come to the SEC. It's the toughest league in the nation. It's going to be a good game to see them really challenge us and see what we're made of." Comments from a couple Bama fans on their team: --Young team, sluggish bats, solid pitching, and decent defense. We have a load of talent but it is all in the freshmen and sophomore classes. This is college baseball. Youth often hurts you more than any other level. I would see some ray of hope with solid performances all three days against a great LSU team. --We have a young offense (start 4 true freshmen at times) that gets shut down by good pitching. We only scored five runs this past weekend in Oxford. Starting pitching is pretty solid, but it's hard to hold up against good offenses while getting zero run support and room for error. Sunday is the only game Alabama has a shot in. We can't score against good pitchers like LSU will throw at us Friday and Saturday. We can't score much as it is, but Spencer Turnbull always gives us a great shot to win as our Sunday starter. He had a string of 22.1 straight scoreless innings snapped in the first inning Sunday against Ole Miss, but didn't allow another run the rest of the time he was in there.

one thing Alabama has going for them is this is A-Day weekend, their Spring Game, and they should have 100K in town for those festivities, which should give their baseball attendance a boost http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/2013-a-day.html Saturday Schedule of Events for A-Day 9:00 AM to 2:00 AM Various A-Day activities 2:05 PM A-Day Football (Spring) Game Kickoff -- TELEVISED ON ESPN2 4:30 PM Softball Game vs. MSU (their softball team is defending National Champs and is currently ranked Top 5) 7:00 PM Baseball Game vs. LSU -- TELEVISED ON FSN
