    Only #9 in the NYT. What a damn joke. They have 4 2 loss teams and 1 3 loss team ahead of us. Honestly the worst ranking I have ever seen.

    I agree. Not sure what to make of the NYT poll, or if we have any chance of catch USC in that one. I know that the computers aren't 'biased', but they sure are doing a good job of giving LSU the shaft.

    Here's what the computers look like so far:

    NYT: SC 3, LSU 9
    CM: SC 2, LSU 4
    KM: SC 3, LSU 2
    AH: SC 3, LSU 2
    JS: SC 2, LSU 3

    I could probably figure out the algorithms for some of these, but the NYT is beyond all logic.

    In the JS computer we are increadibly close to SC. With a win over Arky we should be able to jump them due to SC being off.

    Right, Bayou. The ELO-CHESS part of Sagarin's ratings is what is used for the BCS, and we are only .14 behind USC (89.2 to 89.06). But, one of his criteria is wins over Top 30 teams, and Arkansas is 24th in his ELO-CHESS, 17th in his overall ratings. With a win on Friday, we should vault USC even before the SECC.

    The new BCS should show USC still ahead of LSU in Computer Poll average, but this is promising.
    USC --------------------------------->2.5 (15 points/6)
    LSU---------------------------------->3.1* (19 points/6)

    * If Billingsley drops us to #2-------->USC=2.666, LSU=3.0

    The Wolfe should have us at #5 (best case) ... our highest poll.
    Screw the NYT, we get to throw one in the garbage ... easy pick.

    Who knows, maybe the tide in Computer polls can sway some AP/ESPN votes and close the 65 point AP gap. That will still make all the difference ... if OK & USC win out. Maybe KSU will beat OKLA on Dec 6! There's always hope.
