Well, since it's judged by decade, it's hard to be upset when LSU is in the top ten. Think about that. A top ten--for the decade. If it were like the past five years or something, I could understand. But I think number 9 is a very great spot to be in. Especially behind some of the schools we're behind. I kind of disagree with OU being so high, but that's nit-picking. UF is a bit too high as well, this isn't last decade. Oh well, not that it really matters.

Not surprising that they gave the Condoms one more MNC than they earned. :angryfire

I hate seeing Michigan at #6.

They've lost 5 out of the last 6 times to their arch-rival OSU in those ridiculously hyped "Game of the Century" matchup's. Then adding insult to injury they've lost four straight Bowl games and in the process they routinely make USC look like world-beaters to finish the season.

I would have OSU at the top, mainly b/c USC's first 5 years of the past 10 were barely over .500 (31-29). Overall though I think the list is not too bad. People usually bitch about schools being too high, but the question always has to be "who would you raise in order to lower them"? I made a post about this decade ranking thing a few weeks ago in response to a thread about a similar article (on SI, I think?) and found that of the 10-11 schools in the mix, only FSU, Florida, Michigan and Georgia had all winning seasons in the previous 10. That is pretty significant to me. OSU had one 6-6 year. Georgia gets knocked down a bit due to no NCs. If 98 & 99 weren't so pathetic LSU would be a few spots higher. I would probably have gone with:

    OSU
    Texas
    USC
    Florida
    Oklahoma
    Michigan
    Miami
    Georgia
    FSU
    LSU
    Tennessee

Whats annoying is that there is no way USC should be #1... That second national title was thrown in to legitimize the claim, but of the Top 10 teams, all have a national title, 8 have a better record than USC (LSU is the only one lower)...

We're counting National titles......which is, by all means, fair. Let me throw this out: How much does playing for and being in the running for the NC Game weigh in?

USC played in the NC game in '04, '05, and was one game away in '03, 06. Not about the first five years of the time frame but still a pretty strong showing.

Who mentioned vball?? But hey, you saw her picture......you know she's a lil hottie. :hihi:

I'm just trying to look at what is. It was a question with facts supporting it, just wondered how much it shoud be factored in, that's all. I do try to look at things objectively in reference to all teams. :thumb:
