Gotta say, you guys aren't getting much love in the BCS. The computer polls are killing you guys. I'd put you over Ohio State and FSU. Probably Va. Tech too.
Its ok cause Ohio State will lose with Purdue MSU and michigan left. Florida state will probably lose to florida. so thats at least2 spots
This is a freaking crime Who decides on the strength of schedule thing? The computers have ours at 2.52 and USC's at 0.52. What the fudge? Ohio State will lose at least one of their remaining games, and I would not be suprised if they lost three of them. Virginia Tech got pounded by West Virginia, a nobody. USC lost to nobody Cal. Miami got pounded by Virginia Tech. Florida State got pounded by Miami. This is so bogus I can barely stand it.
I guess I just don't understand the computer polls, Miami at a 2.83??????? Ohio State at a 3.17......... How do those polls spit out such numbers?
Why do they drop the highest computer poll? VaTech is ranked 20 in Sagarin's poll, and it doesn't hurt them. I think that it should count. Where can I get a copy of "BCS for Dummies"?
Virginia Tech beating Miami, along with Miami beating FSU, along with the fact that LSU played ULM, Western Illinois and Louisiana Tech absolutely DROWN our BCS rankings. I will say this though. If the margin of victory aspect of the BCS would not have been removed, LSU would be #1 in Sagarin's Poll.
www.cfrc.com has links to the different computer ranking's sites. A lot of them use SOS which is killer because it hurts us when the BCS adds it in and when its factored in with the comp rankings. At least one site has a poll that is a human made poll that has LSU ranked at 3, but thier comps spit out 9 or something. Also the fact that margin of victory was taken out does us no good because of things like Ohio State getting the same amout of credit for thier 1 point win over a 2-6 team with great SOS (Penn St = 14) as we get for a complete and total domination in every way thinkable of a 4-5(?) team with very good SOS (LA Tech = 28) as well.
What's really aggravating is the way Va Tech fell off the cliff after their loss to WVU. Pundits like Mark May were talking about their weak schedule and how they never belonged in the top 10, let alone the top 5. Then, they wax Miami (which should reveal how bad Miami is, not how good VPI is) and suddenly, they leapfrog right back into the picture. You will never convince me that East Coast bias does not enter into the BCS rankings somehow, somewhere.
