I just wanted to use this thread to show how proud I am of LSU.

I think they played a very good game. They pretty much shut MSU out except for that fluke bomb. I think we improved and were very focued and ready to play despite the short week. Russell looked like a poised QB, and our WR's stepped up pretty well. Our defense was mixing it up well, MSU had no idea what was coming. This was a good game to work the kinks out of the system, and we did a good job of doing that.

You have to realize that LSU has played 2 top 15 teams. One in which that went 4 quarters against the USC Trojans today. I think our Tigers showed their character today, and that they aren't finished. I just wanted to say Geaux Tigers and beat the 4-1 Vanderbilt Commodores next weekend.

(Vandy just got their GW FG blocked):(

based on what i saw today, we have made improvements on both sides of the ball despite playing to worse team in the SEC. Miles certainly let jimbo run his bread and butter offense with a lot of slip and bubble screens and short passes. I liked that s.g. got the ball more and from what I saw today the x man needs to get into the lineup. With that kind of speed, he can change a game in a matter of 30 seconds. Defensively, we ran more man and put more pressure on the qb with no evidence of soft zone with exception of the last few minutes. Overall a good game, but I will like to see the trend continue throughout the year.

Now, this is a good, balanced assessment by a Tiger fan and I tend to agree. I will like to see the trend continue throughout the year.

Do you really think State is worse than Kentucky? Tough call.

Do you really think State is worse than Ole Miss? Arkansas? It's a tough race for the bottom of the SEC West.

But I digress. The Tigers, in an extremely short week, played a focused game against an MSU squad that is improved from last year and played UGA tough last week.

We had previously played two legitimate teams, and if ASU had any run defense, then the Trojans would be toppled from the top spot today, and we'd have played two top ten teams.

Thanks Red, I do think kentucky and state is a tough call perhaps kentucky is worse with the difference being the coaches.

anyone else happy there was a melvin oliver sighting yesterday? i was beginning to think he transferred with amp. pittman added some pressure as well. we need our DE's to take advantage of the attention given to the interior line.

wroten and williams are insane to block for an o-line. wroten simply cannot be handled one-on-one and williams just never quits. We've gone from dominant ends to dominant tackles sacking and getting pressure on the qb. you dont see tackles getting this many sacks but they end up in the backfield every play it seems.

addai needs touches more to the outside. this was a much improved d for MSU and they kinda layed the wood to joe on the insided draws. The Bama D will kill him. it would be nice if justin vincent decided to join us in the 2005 season. shyrone needs touches just not on consecutive carries.

JR had a sick completion percentage yet he takes too many sacks as everyone can see including even Les.

Flynn looked pretty bad again in limited throws.

offensive line was beaten a good bit but the front 7 for MSU is pretty damned good.

    Xavier Carter needs stick 'em.

speaking of bad hands, when did bennie suddenly become the safety valve for both qbs. weird.

all in all a yeoman type win with great special teams giving us the huge edge as i hoped. chris jackson is worth his weight in purple and gold.

memo to Sly Croom: don't repunt to skyler after a 5 yard penalty from your endzone. better yet, don't punt to him at all. you just ruined our chances of seeing skyler return punts against anyone now. thanks.

Was that a bad decision or what? I actually think that Croom is a good coach in a bad situation, but he should have taken the original spot.
