Please, please, I implore you, play some defense tonight. The game vs. WVU was disgusting. I think I had to throw up 3 times during that game. Absolutely no defense on either side of the ball. If you want to play for the NC, you got to show up defensively tonight. If you win this game 44-41 on a last second FG, you are more than likely going to get voted out of the NC by either a 1 loss Texas or the SEC Champ. And deservingly so. Nobody wants to see a Louisville team with a horrible defense play the winner of OSU/Michigan. And voters have the power to control that. You just beat the #3 team in the nation, you're undefeated, and you still failed to pass up a 1 loss Texas team in the Coaches poll, who was only 76 points ahead of you the week before. You barely passed them up in the Harris poll, by a mere 3 points. Any kind of win tonight should get you past Texas in the Coaches poll. But just remember back to Cal having a lackluster performance the last week of the season a couple of years ago and the voters decided to vote Texas ahead of Cal, sending Texas to the Rose Bowl instead (we also remember Mack Brown embarrassingly begging for votes the week before as well). Style points. That's what it will come down to for Louisville from here on out.
I actually would like to see Rutgers win. That would just screw everything up b/c they wouldn't put Rutgers in the BCS NC Game. Even if Louisville wins out they shouldn't be in the NC game. They have no defense and a good defense could easily stop them yet they can stop nobody.
Well, you know Ohio St/Michigan winner is certainly hoping to face Louisville in the NC game. They would be more than happy to face them than a Texas, SEC Champ, or even USuCk.
I'm really interested by this game. Rutgers has the #2 ranked defense statistcally. Obviously, Louisville has a tremendous offense.
I can't see a competitive minded person wanting to face lesser competition. Whoever does isn't worthy of putting on that uniform on Saturdays.
I also hope Rutgers wins out and causes problems for the BCS. Especially if they can dominate both Louisville and WVU on the defensive side of the ball. Will make for quite a dilemna. I just don't know how much offense they can put up. Against those defenses they may be able to put up a 30 spot. A 30-10 score or somewhere along those lines would be nice against both teams. I just don't see it happening, but I sure hope it does.
True. If that would happen you know they would have everyone saying that they wouldn't be champ if they played against this or that team. Just like our year, with USC which we would have beaten BTW.
I think Rutgers will win due to the big let down from Louisville. UL put so much into that game last week, I just don't see them gettin up for Rutgers. If they do, then they will prove how good a team they really are.
