It's shameful that Martin Zeno's name is being used simply to bash someone else.

I was actually hopeful that this thread would be dedicated to the successes of a Louisiana kid that is doing well. I wonder if the person who started this thread actually watched that game last night. I am proud of the kid. He chose a team that suits him well and he was a part of something very special last night.

Great win for the Tech program. This one was big for Knight.

I posted the thread. I'm very proud of Zeno. I followed the kid in high school as he starred at Sulphur High School since his freshman year. He is an outstanding athlete just like his brother was (Jerrel Zeno). I also watched the total game.

But the fact is I'm a true LSU fan. I'm not a Texas Tech fan, so sure I wish he was here at LSU. Who wouldn't want him at LSU?????????????

Do you have any idea why this thread was even started? It wasn't to bash Zeno. It was to commend him. It was also started to hear other opinions about all the talent that gets away from LSU. I see you are lacking on reading skills.

Anyway, congratulations to Martin. He was the best high school player in the state of Louisiana last year. Too bad John Brady and his staff didn't court him like they should have!

Anyone know what all these players have in common.
Robert Parrish, Elvin Hayes, Benoit Benjamin, Calvin Natt, Robert Royal, Orlando Woolridge,Joe Dumars, Kerry Kittles, Louis Dunbar, Karl Malone, and Rick Robey

None of those guys went to LSU and most of those guys were in HS in Louisiana when Dale Brown was head coach. Makes you wonder how he earned a reputation for being a great recruiter. Would you rather have that list of players at LSU or Chris Jackson and Shaquille Oneal.

Which further proves up that LSU basketball has never been all that. It's not just Brady that let's the Louisiana stars get away. It's always been that way.
Would I like it to change? By all means, but I get a laugh out of those who act like the program is "down". It's actually up from what it normally was.

I've heard of Benjamin, but who are the rest of those guys? Was Dunbar the 6'9" point guard that layed for Houston?

So that you could use the young man's performance as reason to bash Brady.

Why beat around the bush? Why not say what you truly wanted to say from the start.

Thread Title: Brady Misses Another Recruit

Message: Brady should be fired.... rant rant rant... he needs to get all Louisiana players.. rant rant rant.. one of our states players is playing well for texas tech and leading them to huge victories?!?!? rant rant rant. John Brady is bad! rant rant rant

    Instead, it was as follows

Thread Title: Louisiana native Martin Zeno scored 24 in win over Kansas

    Which actually translates to:
"Message: Brady should be fired.... rant rant rant... he needs to get all Louisiana players.. rant rant rant.. one of our states players is playing well for texas tech and leading them to huge victories?!?!? rant rant rant. John Brady is bad! rant rant rant"

    You said:

"It wasn't to bash Zeno. It was to commend him."

WHERE did you commend him in your posts in this thread until after I said anything? You said how many points he scored then immediately went onto "Fire Brady!".

Looks like it is not me that is lacking reading skills because apparently what you are thinking of typing is not what is actually being typed into your posts.

This is what I gathered from your post also. You didn't say that you're glad he was playing well and proud that a Louisiana boy was getting praised on national TV. You wanted to harp on the fact that he wasn't playing for LSU because Brady didn't recruit him properly.

But hell, if I had the option of playing for Brady or Knight, I'd choose Knight every time. The dude has won 3 national titles.....

One other thing, wasn't Glenn Davis Louisiana's Mr. Basketball last year?

Sorry, due to my lack of reading skills I actually missed that comment until now.

Ohio State coach comments about Zeno after Tech game

    http://lubbockonline.com/stories/121804/col_1218040013.shtml

Some of the trends are encouraging, like the play from freshman Martin Zeno, who recorded a career-high 20 points against the Buckeyes that drew heavy praise from OSU head coach Thad Matta. "As I told these guys before the game, I think he plays harder than anyone that I've seen," Matta said. "If you watch him you don't know he's a freshman. His ability to get in the lane and finish, he does a heck of a job. I think the future for that young man is extremely bright."
