I see your point. I never got punched by my dad but he wasn't afraid to break out the belt.

I'm all for corporal punishment but actual beating goes way over the line. There are thousands of hardened criminals who were regularly beaten as youth.

I agree. That's a kid on a potential cusp of a life lesson/turn. Mom gave him a wake-up call. I can't judge her actions in this and ultimately I think it was the right choice for her.

Perhaps. Anyone can get caught up in their emotions. Dragging his ass out of there was certainly called for. Maybe not the head punches. She was really wailing on him.

My thoughts are that kids who get slapped and punched a lot can get desensitized to it. They learn to blow it off and not show that they are intimidated. That can transfer into how they deal with the police and other people.

Not at her house! I bet her son won't be out there again tonight. I bet he now understands he did wrong. That lady is part of the solution not the problem. She should be given a medal.

How often did you help burn down the city that you live in and throw rocks at the police? Maybe he would have kicked it up a notch if you had.

My stepdad,a Marine, would line us up and give us the "rules of conduct " when we went somewhere. If we broke them he would give us a look. When we got back home it was a belt on that ass and extra chores.
My dad wouldn't let us go fishing or hunting if we messed up.
I don't know which was worse.
But we learned for the most part
