Looks like Boudreaux won't be a Tiger...

Anthony Boudreaux, the mammoth OL commit from Chalmette, probably won't make the grades at Dodge City CC. That sucks because we need O-lineman and he's a good one.

I don't want to veer too off topic, but I'm curious about how this works. What sort of grades and in what type of classes? Of course I know it's not "How to split the atom 101", so I always wonder how these kids don't make it through CC. Is the bar set really high or are they just not smart or lazy (or both?)

Hopefully he gets his act together and finishes his semester strong and really works hard in the spring to atleast qualify and make it here this summer. The kid is huge and has alot of potential.

The LSU coaches apparently weren't happy with his performance in the class room or the weight room. He was getting out of shape and not preparing himself as they wouldve liked. He also wouldn't be able to graduate in December which is the main draw for a JUCO guy. Because of this I think they sort of pulled his offer ....consequently he is looking around at other schools. The commitment from Mark Snyder earlier this week is probably to take Boudreauxs place.

According to the article in the Times Picayune, apparently he was having trouble to begin with but Hurricane Katrina destroyed his family's home and he lost a family member as well. These events according to his HS coach has greatly affected him.

While I don't think he'll be a Tiger THIS recruiting period, the doors are open to him to join us at some point down the road.

    So there is still hope.

Oh man, that's bad. Very sorry to hear that. Hopefully he and his family can bounce back, even if it doesn't involve LSU football. Yet another time when Katrina puts things in perspective, I guess.
