These are the factors as i see them for an LSU win against Florida. 1.) Cut down on the Penalties. We have to show more discipline and maintain our composure. Have your head in the game. 2.) As most games you can not turn the ball over and beat good teams. If we just take care of the ball against Tenn. we win. Eliminate the turnovers and the Offense will move the ball. 3.) Use a good mixture of the run and pass. But go deep early in the game whether we complete it or not. This is something i dont think we have done enough of in the previous games. 4.) Play good defense and get pressure on Leak . One thing Leak did in the game at tiger stadium in 2003 is pick up the blitz well and burn us with his running backs. I would expect that again as a way they are going to attack the blitz. 5.) We need good dline play this week especially. I have been impressed with all the talent on the dline. One of the real bright spots not just for this year but for the future. 6.) Special teams have been good. Need to get the field goal team back on track but our special teams have done a really good job and we need that to continue. Get Skyler going and no blocks in the back. Make sure coverage teams keep them backed up. But it really comes down to what every game does. The players making the plays to win. Lets take care of business because these next 2 games are very important if we want to go to the SEC CG without needing help from others to get there. I am looking for the first really sound game from our guys in all aspects of the game. Having a few of the bounces go our way wouldnt hurt either.
You forgot the other obvious one...put together a more valuable combination of points through touchdowns, field goals, extra points and safeties than Florida.
Well since we lose both tackles and one end I hope Dorsey and company can hold up for the future. I've been really impressed with Wroten. I now see what Saban saw in him. Vandy had to hold him every play from getting up-field on Cutler.....and Williams plays sideline to sideline as d-tackle. If we play tight coverage in the secondary like we did the other night, we'll be fine vs. Florida. If we drop back in this soft zone and make our guys read stuff, Leak will have the chance to pick us apart up-field. I look forward to a good game on both sides of ball for 60 minutes. If we do, I think we'll blow Florida out like Bama. I think talent-wise, we have 2/3 more talent than the Gators. If we can get to Leak like Bama did and confuse that slow-moving shotgun/hand-off/option/drop back and throw crap they run, it'll get ugly. Bama did it by playing in their backfield all day. There's no time to read a defensive end for Leak and Urban if a safety is already in his face ya know?
You can change the first line to: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These are the factors as i see them for an LSU win against (insert team name).
We will one-dimensionalize the UF offense. The D strategy for this game should be a no-brainer. Get to Leak early and often. They really don't have much of a run threat that could burn the blitz.
Exactly. LSU boasts one of the top run D's in the nation. UF is very thin at RB, and just flat out hasn't been very effective this year at that position.
I think you also forgot one of the most obvious ones too. Florida may forfeit do to the fact that Baton Rouge has no motel rooms and it could also possibly rain on Saturday . I am expecting the Florida announcement to come after their conference call with Phat Phil and the Tenn. A.D . It is just too risky for the Florida players to attempt to travel at this time. Skip and the SEC Commisioner are looking at moving the game to Monday to avert this . Phat Phil is supposed to suggest moving the game to Florida because of the lower chance that a Hurricane will hit there. What a mess I thought we might have a game in Tiger stadium this Saturday.
LOL.... The only tropical depression this week will be the one in the Gator locker room. Their bubble has burst, their offense sucks, their defense arm tackles ala all Meyer teams... I'm thinking 38-13 LSU... don't disappoint.
