I don't know if anyone noticed, but the Hogs are 8-2 with their only losses coming to UConn and Maryland. No one seems to be worried about them, but you better look out when conference play rolls around. Ronnie Brewer (Preseason SEC Player of the Year) is averaging 20 a game, and Stan Heath has instilled a new motion offense to create more scoring. Point guard Dontell Jefferson is leading the SEC with over 6 assists per game, and Jonathan Modica is back to his old ways after a mediocre year last year. LSU may be pretty good, but I don't think they can stop the Hogs.

The pigs can't be worse than they have been so far under Stan Heath's tutelage. It'll be fun if the Tigers and pigs can play well against each other. There is a bit of animosity between Heath and Brady.

I think most of the animosity comes from the botched call at your place last year that kept us from making the Big Dance.

I definitely think the Arkansas basketball team this year could have a special season. To say LSU can't stop the hogs could be accurate too, but time will tell. I suspect you are wrong though. Most likely, the games this year will be as closely contested as ever.

Nolan hated Brady just as much. If only the football rivalry could have as much juice to it as the basketball one does.

BTW, I've showed a zoom-in close up of the toe to many, many people and I can't get more than 50% of people to go one way or the other on it. It's as close as a call gets.

I said at the begining of the year that Arkansas was my dark horse. They are full of young talent and if they mature, the whole SEC has to watch out.

As for Bama being overrated to begin the season...Yeah they were at the begining but you have to look at the injuries that we have had early. Steele has been bothered by a bad back all year. Our only point behind him is Brandon Hollinger, who is getting a lot better but still is a freshman.

We are not very deep at all in the guard postion. Our big guys have proved they can play with anyone. Davidson and Davis are just MEN inside and both have GREATLY improved their outside game in the offseason. Blue chip Richard Hendrix is getting better and damn that boy can grab some rebounds!

All in all, I think that the SEC is going to get LOTS better as the season progresses. Bama is going to get a lot better you can mark my words. Without a SG, Gottfried has been tweaking the lineup a lot--they just need to find an identity.
