Isn't it nice that ULM is now also trying to use the name "University of Louisiana" or simply "Louisiana," thereby confusing people even more about which school is which? I wonder if either "Louisiana" understands brand dilution. Apparently not.
"ULL has "fans?" humm, did'nt know that." Yes Mikeb Tiger, ULL has fans. I'm one of them, but I love the Tigers, too(DUH!). One thing I can't figure out is why LSU fans don't mind calling ULM "The University of Louisiana", but get all pissed off whenever ULL calls themselves the same name. I'm not trying to be a sour puss, but it kinda makes me wonder at times.
I don't think ULM should be the University of Louisiana either. I still call the Ragin Cajuns by USL because it's a hard habit to break and I root for them too. I kind of look at it as the NO Zephers are to the Houston Astros (at least in football).
I actually do like the helmets, except the Louisiana part. I wonder if they have hatchet pride stickers if FSU can say they have their helmets copyrighted??
Because ULL is the school that instigated the entire name change fiasco. There are many like you who love your team (ULL) and also support their state's flagship school. Unfortunately, the vocal minority of those with "Tiger Envy" can't stand to see LSU have any success while their football program wallows in mediocrity. Somehow they feel that LSU's gain is their loss.
