I'm about burned out on Gameday anyway. I enjoy it for a while, but 2 hours of the crap is just too much (or maybe I'm just getting old). Seems to me like tv is trying to ruin the game of college football. First, the new clock rules (obviously that was done for the sake of the networks), then, ABC has Emmitt Smith prostituting himself doing some sort of promotion for that dancing with the stars crap. When the "interview" first started, I thought what the heck is this, he went to Florida. Then they quickly got off the subject of football and it all started to make sense. #1 vs. #2 in primetime and this is what we get to see? I'm really starting to hate the ABC/ESPN alliance. At first I wasn't too excited about FOX's deal with the BCS, but now I'm thinking it can't be worse, maybe it'll even be a little better.
Week One - FSU/Miami Week Two - OSU/Texas Week Three - Neb/USC Yep, I see that west coast bias thing at work.:hihi:
Let the babies have their bottle. I never understood taking a break from real, actual tailgating to go stand behind a desk with three morons in bad suits and hold up a stupid, uninventive sign. I think when they first did this it offered maybe a sliver of legitimacy to a game and a certain campus. Now it's silly, predictable (Corso putting on a mascot head every time) and dumb.
Outside of USC, there is no team on the West Coast that the media favors. So this "West Coast bias" crap doesn't exist.
Honestly it has nothing to do with any bias. The SEC has a deal with CBS, ESPN and Jefferson Pilot and won't be on the Saturday night game on ABC until that deal ends or possibly never. The Gameday road trip thing is done too because they now go on location to wherever the ABC Saturday night game is being played. Simple as that. It has nothing to do with ABC or ESPN not choosing the LSU/Auburn game. CBS has the 1st right and ABC has no right.
Great, now we're going to lose because Gameday isn't going to be at our game. Damn media and their vendetta against LSU... :dis:
Gameday officially sucks now... I can't watch it at all. I mean, if your team isn't ranked in the top 3-5, then you get absolutely no coverage. However, if you watch the NFL Lives, etc. they seem to cover every team in the NFL quite nicely in the same amount of tv time. Say what you want, but I can't watch a 2 hour love-fest for Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, and Texas every week.
