Every team has injuries, it's part of the game. If LSU can't find enough offensive linemen to beat the 5-5 piggies then we don't belong in the top 25. Time for Livings or who ever is called upon to step up and get the job done period.

Unfortunately for Nate, he showed up in the best shape of his entire life, worked harder and came out in better physical condition than any other player on the entire team, and he has had 10 games to prove that all the preparation and hard work and offseason time he put in proved one thing:

He's a sh!tty Right Tackle, & if Whitworth leaves early, so help us if this staff attempts to insert him over at Left Tackle. I guarantee you we will lose at least one quarterback to season ending or career threatening injury. He's just not the player he is at Guard. Just look at the performance on Saturday for an indication...Johnson hasn't proven to me he can light the world on fire, but Livings has shown at Guard, he can dominate. Let's see if Dyakowski or someone else can manage to pass pro a little better, why don't we? We already KNOW Livings can't do it to save his life, or the career of the quarterback.

I guess Wibel, Dyakowski, Planchard, and Hodges must not be very good.

Makes me excited to see big ol' Herman in the mix for next year. Sounds like he could start now but Saban really wants him to redshirt. I remember reading somewhere that he didn't allow 1 sack his whole senior year.

I find it amazing he can be so good at one position and absolutely horrible at another. Usually not that much disparity with O-lineman like that.

I just can't see Whitworth leaving. He has not had the great season we all thought he would have. He needs to stay and prove that he really is worthy of preseason All-American status and totally dominate next year, as we hopefully return to 33+ point production on offense (hopefully higher than that).

    Pretty easy when you're 6-7 350 and playing against 5-8 165 linemen....

Whit has graded out very well in every game. He did say he was staying for his fifth year though.

Actually a man like Niswanger that can play all positions is kind of rare. Each position requires traits that can make a certain guy perfect for the position. Tackles need height to gain the leverage to keep defensive ends from getting outside. Left tackles must also guard a quarterbacks blindside. Guards need foot quickness to pull on sweeps. Centers must have great peripheral vision and be good back pedallers to pick up stunts and blitzes. Guards and centers need great leg and arm strength to contend with the inside defensive linemen.

Livings has the physical tools to play tackle and was a logical man to replace Reed, but game experience has proven him to be much more suited for guard.
