I wonder... If we give even more of our money to the poor countries of the world, will they hate us even more? How bout this.. we give lots and lots more money to Africa, and we are excused from sending our troops over there when the time comes? let the French and Germans and anyone else go die in some African jungle...
I don't know about all that, but I saw the show open up w/ Paul McCartney joining up w/ U2 for a rendition of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" that rocked the house. Awesome.
I couldn't care less about africa. Nuke the place and start over. I've been all over that God forsaken place and haven't seen anything worth donating money for. It's a damn waste of time anyway. Have they improved their situation at all in the last two decades? These freakin idiots that do these concerts don't care either, it's just a cause that they get up for so they can feel good about themselves. There are plenty of people here that could use their money, if they have to give it away. Screw africa.
I'm not sure what to think. It's so hard seeing pictures of all those children and I'm left wondering, why should they suffer because they weren't lucky enough to be born somewhere else? But then again, if we give all this money, where is it going to go? The governments over there are so corrupt that they will keep it from the people. Military action? That could only make things worse. Sometimes I can't help but think that it may be a lost cause...
take all of the money in the world and put in one big pot and give everyone an equal share... you know what you get? lots and lots of poor people... welcome to socialism on a global scale.. they can keep it..
