So who's going to the game? What is the tailgating like? Where are the good places to eat? Where are all the tiger fans hanging out? Any inside tips? I'm heading up tomorrow afternoon after dinner.

Rooms are still available!! Right by the stadium!! It figures that the away game I don't go too it's easy to get a room.

If you haven't been to War Memorial Stadium in L.R., first let me say it's not the, well, most modern facility in the SEC. Frankly it's kind of a dump, but it's our dump, and it does get loud as hell inside. Great atmosphere and more of a blue-collar type crowd than Fayettville. Tailgating is just outside the stadium on the golf course. It gets pretty rowdy and fun, but not too many arrests. Usually. Just like most places in the SEC, you are welcome as long as you're respectful, and won't get too much ribbing. Check out the hogville.net tailgate. Some true rabid Razorback fans.

The best nightlife is downtown along the river. (The Rivermarket District) Check out the Flying Saucer for a good beer selection and good pub food. Underground Pub is pretty good, and there are two piano bars that are usually packed.

The best barbeque in town is Whole Hog Cafe, on Cantrell Road. It's in a strip mall, but don't let that deter you. It stands up to anything Memphis has to offer.

Good luck Friday, and hope you have a good time in the Rock!

I'll be doing the same, Thanksgiving Dinner and then heading up 61. We'll be at the Embassy Suites, 5 miles west of the stadium. I'm not sure about vacancies as I reserved a few months back, but I did refer someone last week who got a room.

I was at the game in 2000 and I'll agree that War Memorial was a dump. I think I remember standing in mud while waiting for concessions. But I did notice some improvements when I went back in 2004. Much improved from the first trip.
