The consensus says that LSU's linebackers rate below those of our opponents (i.e., Auburn, Ga., OU). Looking back on the season and Saban's conversion of safeties to LB, I'd say it's worked quite well. Their ex-safety speed blends in with our big front four so that our front 7 is also one of the best as is our front 4, as is our whole 11.
I agree....the speed of the linebackers is incredible. You never hear much about them cuz the secondary covers so damn well and the D-line is always blowing past the opponent's O-line. But the interception by one of our linebackers was the key to ending it for GA saturday night (I think it was Lionel Turner).
