Makes sense. Negates previous rational thought. Abortion, by your definition because it 1)ends the life of the baby, and 2) has a victim, you know the baby who gets murdered.
Baby's that survive late term abortions should be saved, if possible. Once the mother has made the decision to abort a baby her right to the baby should cease. If the baby does survive then adoption should be the option. They are thousands of people out there that want to be parents.
You clearly are not familiar with the definition of asinine. If so, then your post just topped mine as the most asinine...
Fascinating that you make a blanket statement that abortion should be legal. Does that mean a woman on the day before she is due to deliver can abort with no concequence before the law? You think there is no difference between abortion and dishonoring your parents? That is what you wrote...did you really mean that? Morality not religon is the basis of law. What do you think defines murder and the way one treats others but morality?
Scenario. If a man gets his gf pregnant. He doesn't want kids but she decides to have the baby. Should he be responsible for child support?
No a society deciding on how to treat one another and handle difficult situations. No right is unlimited, MM even the so called "womans right to her body". That term is just to deflect what happens to the unborn child. That unborns right are not unlimited either and there are equally protective terms used by the anti abortion crowd. The duty of a functioning society is to find a balance between conflicting rights. It is also a false claim that only a woman should have the right to decide these issues. What they do effects others as Johnne Dunn said "no man is an island unto himself". DO I think abortions should never be performed? No I realize that not only does a fertilized egg need to be inplanted in a womans womb before it has a chance to grow but that many are spontaneously aborted in the first few weeks and months. The path to life is tenuous and I believe it can be acceptable to have abortions in early pregnancy. Likewise there are enough examples of babies developing with such severe issues (like no brain or severe deformity and or genetic condition) that any life after birth would be brutal, short and painful. Terminating those pregnanciies seems a blessing. There is a time when a healthy fetus/baby should be thought of as having equal right to life as the mother does toprivacy/happiness. As was pointed out earlier in this thread there should never be reason for late term abortion to protect the life of the mother. Is making the distinction of when the relative rights of the mother and baby become superior going to be easy, clean or nice? Doubtful but it is a debate and decision ALL women & men should share.
