It's designer media. You don't have to listen or watch anything that doesn't tickle your worldview in exactly the right place. Rush practically invented it, but it's standard now. TV, internet, radio - all designed to tell you what you want to hear so you can feel vindicated and smart.

By the way, The Daily Show (to some extent) and Bill Mahr (to a large extent) are mean spirited and make fun of views that don't exactly match their own. Olberman, etc., as well.

Lots more on the right as well, especially in radio.

If you don't really like it - read books. That have footnotes. And are only about topics about 5 years in the past or older. Otherwise, it's all spin and designer media.

    IMO.

Unlike Hannity or O'Reilly, Limbaugh can be personally rude and thoughtless.

During the Clinton administration, he ragged on Bill and Hillary, of course, they are political targets. But then he was slimeball enough to start ragging Chelsea Clinton for being ugly. A 13-year old girl who tried to stay out of the limelight as much as any presidential child in recent history. She was not a political target and a grown man on national radio making ugly joke after ugly joke about Chelsea told me everything I need to know about Limbaugh.

Sure he may be an entertainer, but he's also a colossal pr!ck . . . and a coward for insulting the daughter of a man who is in no position to come over and whip his fat ass.

limbaugh is an ass but you have to hand it to him. in his field he's remained relevent for years. of course, no one does political satire like mahr and his buds openly wishing people were dead.
