Can some of my conservative friends please help me understand the attraction to Limbaugh?

He dodged the draft because of boils on his behind, yet attacked the patriotism of a decorated veteran (Kerry)

He's a 3 time divorcee who is a darling to the religous right.

He's an overweight slob who made fun of the looks of a 13 year old daughter of a president elect (Chelsea Clinton)

A law and order devotee who wanted life sentences for drug offenders and was a prescription drug abuser himself.

He's mean spirited and downright obnoxious and yet his fans say he's "entertaining"

    What's the attraction?

Sometimes (and I use that term loosely) he has good things to say. Most times he's a blubbering idiot.

My mom loves him. I find him boorish and not worth my time. We argue about it pretty good.....which really means it gets pretty bad. There's that point in time when you realize that your parents don't know everything. My mom is still trying to deal with that. :hihi:

    Don't forget he's a drug addict, too.

He is very polarizing and I never liked that in him. But his drug problem was not recreational drugs. It was pain killers he got hooked on because of a medical condition. That is not all that unusual. My neice had the same problem. After WWII many vets found they had become addicted to pain killers.

    To answer your question...

Maybe there is nothing else on the radio remotely interesting and he'll make a spectacle for entertainment's sake.

I agree, he had an original medical condtion that required prescription pain killers, not the same as rec. drugs.

But I bet before he got caught, he wouldn't have made a distinction. Mr. Personal Accountability.

Ahhh the moderate liberal point of view is here!!!!

he is an idiot of the first kind. I live in Palm Beach County, this guy is the worst. He just in this for the money, dont believe anything he says, its all shock value. He has a 10 million dollars plus mansion on the Island of Palm Beach. Some of the most liberal people in society live there. Trust me he is a fake and a drug addict. Which most of us here has never been and people have the nerve to take him as some credible conservative force. Well you cant blame him for that, blame the people he drink his spiked up kool aid.

I find him incredibly obnoxious--which is why ESPN hired him a while back and then were "SHOCKED" when he caused great controversy talking about McNabb.

He is an embarrassment, and if he has a good message, it gets lost in his polarizing method of delivery.

My ex used to listen to him religiously--I said it, ex.
