I really don't understand this either, since I don't agree with you I must be liberal. And its always used in a derogatory tone... Its like name calling, oh you big bad liberal. I can tell where you get your news from how you talk, and what you say. And if you calmed down, you would understand that I probably believe in some of the same things as you. Just you give off the very distinct smell of living in a bubble, and I was once there, and am glad I am not now. I have some liberal views and some very conservative views. I also don't believe in hard line if you are X you are bad. Most of my friends and family are ultra conservative and I have had this exact conversation with them. I used to only watch Fox and listen to Rush, then a few things happened over time. The second gulf war, Katrina, I moved to Houston, and my cousin worked on Rick Scott's campaign in Florida. All of these events made me question my opinions in politics. And over time I found that I was not just a republican or a democrat, I was both. And the less I watched the news, and read it the more middle of the road I became. I lost confidence in Fox news from their war coverage and the lead up to it, plus many other stories. Katrina coverage was horrible as well with Fox. I started to question as many people did what I was being told. In Houston and online I met many great people, and a bunch of them were liberal. And they were not the devils I had been told they were. My family is not very political, but the ones that are are very right wing. So I was too, but then I grew up and out of my bubble. Finally talking to my cousin about our experiences, and how we both ended up in the same place was very reaffirming. He was also very right wing guy, more so than me, he was a lobbyist and worked a few campaigns all republican. So he had many stories about what really goes on behind the scenes. And it was pretty disgusting stuff. Anyway good luck, maybe start to question some of your beliefs, you may find that they are not truly how you are. I know I did and I am better for it. If not, so be it, I am out.
If you listened to Rush Limbaugh more than once that there says there is something wrong with your political compass.
Wow, parroting again. do me a favor read the definition of liberal, just google it. Being a liberal does not mean they are on welfare or looking for a free ride. It may mean they support a social safety net, or social security and the like. I would not call that someone looking for a free ride. The argument is just silly and really back to name calling. Look if you do any amount of research on the subject, both Republicans and Democrats are equally to blame for the welfare state we are in now. It is in now way a party specific problem. Corporate welfare or people welfare take your pick, both are hurting us in the pocket book.
Its been about 9 years since I have had the pleasure, but yes I used to only listen to him or watch Fox news. I am a very different person now from then.
And he is very much more extreme now. From the few clips I have seen around the internet. And keep in mind, listening to him doesn't mean I believed in what he was saying, even back then.
There is probably a market for liberal talk shows but the conservative talk show guys are mostly professional broadcasters and most of the lib guys who try it are like that weenie Alan Combs who used to co-host with Hannity. Bill Maher is about the only successful liberal and he pisses off his fellow liberals more often than not.
Combs was just the only one who would suck republican cock enough to stay on Fox. Rachel Maddow is pretty successful, Ed Schultz, Thom Hartmann are successful too. Mark Maloy has been on the air for a long time and he's about as left as they come.
ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, NPR, CNN No one listens to Rush for anything other than entertainment and when did that twig Coulter get her own show and where? Probably Fox. Point being your claim that the media has a right leaning slant is ridiculous at best. Almost ALL the major outlets lean heavily to the left.
He may not hate "America " but I can see how he would hate who we are, based on where he came from and what and how he studied. Of course you will dismiss and excuse this as you always do. Myself, as I'm sure from reading you here were raised by people with certain values and they passed those along to us as I'm sure holds true to just about everyone. So knowing he was raised by people that were "less than complimentary " of the way we did things, why is it so hard to believe? Oh, let's not forget who he studied under and the way he conducted himself during his formative years. Of course that was all nothing and he just let go of everything that was instilled in him his whole life and went a totally different direction for no apparent reason. Uh huh
