What a joke. Armitage who admitted releasing Plaume's name gets off scott free. I don't like the trend of convicting someone of lying to the FBI if they can't nail them with any other charge. Unless you are very skilled, it is easy to get in trouble with a grand jury. The purpose of a grand jury is to examine a crime; not create one. Also, the government seems to be very selective on who it charges. Clinton could have very easily been charged. Libby was a scapegoat. Bush should pardon him.

    It is a joke.
Between this and the Paris Hilton fiasco, shows you just how screwed up our so called justice system is today.
I bet W wishes he wouldn't have appointed this judge.

One more thing about this whole thing.
Clinton lied and didn't do any time.
Sandy Burglar stole and didn't do any time.
Then there is Ted Kennedy, well, everyone knows.

Red must be loving this, no crime involved and yet someone goes to jail.
Guess he hates this administration this much!

Oh well, Like I've said all along.
Justice system in this country is a joke, child molestors are put back on the street everyday, people who do lesser crimes seem to be given harsher sentences.
Better hope you aren't in the wrong place at the wrong time either or you could be next.
Look how they prosecuted the Duke Lacrosse team, players and the Ramseys, the wife and I have seen many shows on how the cops
are under pressure to solve cases so they do the best they can but sometimes they will go after anyone innocent just to solve a case.

I'm willing to bet my lottery money this judge is a liberal playing politics!
EDIT: I can't wait to see Bill Jefferson get off with a lite sentence or scott free next!

Libby was a fool. He got charged because he lied to the FBI and under oath. Armitage, Cheney, and Rove all leaked the agent to the press and they were not charged and did not even lose their security clearances. Why? Because they "could not recall" or "did not remember that conversation" or some other legal evasion. They were smart enough to know that you can't be convicted of lying if you simply don't lie.

Hell, Gonzalez's assistant actually took the fifth when she testified to Congress. You lie under oath and you go to jail.

He got impeached, but was acquitted by a Republican Senate.

    Perjury is a crime, Sourdough.

So is revealing a covert CIA agent. Bush pledged that he would find out who leaked the agent and that person would be punished. Testimony indicates that Armitage, Libby, Rove, and Cheney all leaked the story to reporters. We're still waiting for Bush to punish them . . .

Not for everyone, Red. For some, they can agree to be disbarred for giving misleading testimony during a deposition to avoid perjury prosecution.

And no, I don't want to have this whole discussion about what "is" is.:yelwink2:

Once again we need to re-phrase your statement Red.
Perjury isn't always a crime Red.

Just like your false statement made on wmds.
Keep in mind that I care less if they were ever there!
