LSU Defensive Statistics as of the VU game

    Rushing Yards/game Allowed = 62.5 = Top 5 maybe even #2
    Passing Yards/game allowed = 249.25 = top 85
    Total Yards/game allowed = 311.75 = Top 28
    Points/game allowed = 18.5 = Top 30

    LSU Offensive Statistics
    Rushing Yards/game = 165.5 = Top 45
    Passing Yards/game = 227.25 = Top 60
    Total Yards/game = 392.75 = Top 55
    Points/game = 33.25 = Top 30

We are averaging 33.25 points a game...

    not so shabby...

Whats does everyone thing about these stats and how they compare even to our championship season?

    yeah that kinda sucks...

new head coach, new defensive coach, new defensive line coach...

new starting quarterback, new starting running back, new starting corners... and the list goes on and on...

Im just happy we have a winning record.

I grew up liking LSU in the Late 80's and throughout the 90's... so to associate WINNING and LSU football is only a couple years old for me.

    :hihi:

We do have some tough games coming but we also have

Appl. St, North Texas, Ole Miss.

I think our stats get betteragainst these 3.

Just hope we can play this well of Defense the rest of the season and can keep em healthy.

Only injury i remember is Ryan Miller.

Anybody know how bad that injury is?

I heard spraigned knee. Doesn't sound season threatening, but could make him miss UF game. Good news is that Rudy played tonight and showed no ill effects of his bum ankle. We can't afford either of them to go down for long periods of time.

a simple knee sprain should show NO outward signs of abnormality.
but it swelling occurs within a day or two, then it could be more internal, dealing with the patellar tendon...

    we must know details...
    but i know we wont...

theres a minor knee sprain, which you could get playing backyard bal that would only need some stretching ice and motrin. or...

a real knee sprain classified as his MCL being stretched.

If there's an internal injury, the knee will puff up with fluid, basically.
If the knee looks normal, functions normally, and only hurts directly over a small area on the inner side of the knee, chances are it's just a sprain

    if thats the case then...

    was it swollen?
    was it discolored?
    numbness and tingling?
    can't make small motions?

these are questions that I know cant be answered...

from what I saw, he just twisted it pretty good, he'll more than likely sit out against florida though to rest at least for two weeks.

and wham, good as new for auburn!

i think they can end up comparing favorably to 03. its likely we hold ole miss, ark, app st and unt to very little and the other opponents arent solid offensive teams. if the DBs hang around the receivers like they did today and offensive turnovers are limited, we will be very tough to beat.

I didn't see him twist it at all, he was blocking and backpeddling, and he stepped back and immediately pulled off of it as if he felt something give. I've had my knee react like that a few times, where I stepped back on it awkwardly and felt some pain and some numbness, like I got hit in the funnybone. Hopefully it was something like that. I didn't notice if he walked off on his own power, I went to get some drinks after that.

this offense should be able to put up nearly 500 yards per game....so from that perspective it's somewhat disappointing.....but the bottom line is 33.5 ppg is a an excellent outcome from averaging less than 400 ypg.
