Although i've been a life long Republican, i feel that now days there's only a few subtle degrees of difference between the two parties. Government still grows under Republican's, but supposedly a point or so less (maybe not anymore). Clinton took the Dems to the right, and Bush, to my great disappointment, took the Republican party to the left (with a Repulican congress & nation, Reagan would be ashamed.)

So it's either 60mph or 55mph to hell. I say let's get there quicker. Then maybe ala Atlas Shrugged, we can get true government reform, with Objectivist Ideals.

Anyway, i'm hold my nose and vote Obama/Clinton. It's not really a Pendulum swinging, it's more like a vibration.

I am sorry but you could not be more wrong. There is a huge difference between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The Democrats have no confidence in local or state government to solve their own problems. Only the federal government can solve problems. The Republicans take the opposite view. The Democrats try to get as many people dependant on the federal government as they can; the Republicans strive to make less people dependant on government.

Clinton never took the party to the right and Bush never took it to the left. Many of the programs that passed during Clinton's administration started with the first Bush such as welfare reform (Clinton did not particularly like it but passed it because it was just too popular) and NAFTA which promoted and continues to promote free trade, avoiding costly and self-defeating trade wars.

If you believe there is no or little difference between the two parties, then go ahead and vote for Obama or Clinton. And then you will find, belatedly, just how wrong you are.:nope:

I don't know, I tend to enjoy being in control of my life and would rather the federal government stay out of it. States should have control over state issues. Not such a bad idea no? Sticking to the document that established our great country, instead of bending the words to make it mean what you (figure of speech, not specific to any one person) want it to mean? Oh terrible idea right?

Listening to Rush too much. Clinton's welfare reform in 96 certainly did not do this.

No. I see nor remember Bush I talking about welfare reform. Clinton campaigned on it in 1992, and it was a fresh idea then, see just below:
    http://www.4president.org/brochures/billclinton1992brochure.htm

Clinton vetoed two bills from the republican congress before he got a bill everyone could live with, but the republicans certainly did not dictate or force welfare reform on Clinton in 1996. Clinton knew about the veto, and he used it effectively.

If you want to say Bush I started welfare reform then please post something to that affect from a source other than a simple minded right wing fud factory or a high falutin right wing fud factory.

Standard Rush fear statement. We went through 8 years of Clinton, and enjoyed a balanced budget in multiple years, excellent economic growth, low inflation, low unemployment, strong dollar, relative peace and low death toll of our soldiers. The Clinton years were good.
