ESPN's Chris Mortenson is reporting that Nick Saban is the number one candidate to replace San Reeves in Atlanta. Sorry, no link available at this time. I saw it on TV. I'm a little worried about this one, especially if we win the NC because the Atl job is probably the most coveted one in the NFL right now - especially since they are going to have one of the first couple of picks in the draft to go along with Vick. Thoughts?

Shit like that is the only reason I can see LSU losing. Having that as a distraction when OU is licking their chops to regain their luster is not a good combination.

No sense worrying about it. These rumors are always abound and will be until the day it happens.

If it does happen then we give Jimbo the nod and hope for the best.

He will take a hard long look at the NFL, and yes coaching Michael Vick will be quite tempting, but in the end he will see that the brilliant Steve Spurrier can't even get egomaniacal selfish men to play together as a team for him. He will decide to STAY with LSU especially after accepting the huge raise LSU is about to offer him.

    No worries here.

    Jesus, people!

Chicago's going to ax their GM too, so they're going to bring in someone from college?

Like a Butch Davis? How AMAZINGLY successful has he been in bring in TOP talent with TOP draft picks and seeing their collegiate credentials and freakish physical talent pay off?

Like a Steve Spurrier? How AMAZINGLY successful has he been in Washington?

How has Mike Holmgren done with Player/Personnel control? Gimme a break? Don't talk about the end of last season, or their decent play this year....Ever seen them play on the road? That's right, I haven't either...BECAUSE THEY FRICKING LOSE EVERY GAME THEY PLAY THERE!

The Chicago job is Jauron's because the GM would fire him, and they're going to fire the GM...He's safe...Look at the player's he's been given? It's not his fault...

The NYG job is a JOKE...Who is going to take that job under that media microscope? Saban can't STAND the media here!

The Atlanta job? The damn owner just fired Reeves because his TEAM has no testicles...They folded like a tent when ONE player went down...Vick is great...but why is it the DEFENSE played so well all of the sudden when he came back?

I REALLY want to know that my owner who signs my paychecks will blame ME if my QB isn't healthy....

I REALLY want to know that my owner canned a Super Bowl winning, 6th all time winningest NFL coach in HISTORY....

    Gimme a break people...This is a JOKE!

What he should be saying is that Saban is the best candidate in his opinion. No one has been interviewed so to say Saban is the front runner is irresponsible jounalism. These guys just name every hot coach so if one gets hired they can say they were in the loop. We need to remember that this has happened every single year since he came to LSU, hell it even happened with Dinardo(Dallas,ND). No reson to get all hyped if it happens we are in great shape to get a high quality replacement even though we all hope Saban stays for a long time.

He's not going to take any NFL job.

Some of the best coaches have trouble winning in the NFL
    anymore.

Free agency has killed any loyalty and teams are struggling
because they can't afford to keep many of the stars on 1 team.

The coaches are the one's that are getting the ax and all the
    blame.

Take for instance Mike Shanahan, Dan Reeves.

It takes a miracle worked to win consistantly in this league anymore.

Look at all the injuries the Broncos have had since they beat
    the Falcons in the Superbowl.

Look at all the key injuries the Falcons have had this year.

    The Dolphins.................

The Patriots are the exception.... Bill Bellicheck is amazing.

Most people know Mike Shanahan has the skills to draft rb's
and make them the best in the NFL, look at what he did with
the team after he went to Denver.

Terrell Davis, Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson and Clinton Portis.'

They signed Darrel Guardner for a lot of money and have gotten
    anything out of him.

    The Keshawn Johnson situation.

He's starting to take some heat this year.

The depth in the NFL doesn't exist anymore and its just going
to get worse for the coaches because someone has to take
    the blame.

And that doesn't take into account the troubled individuals in
    the league.

I think Nick can see the writing on the wall in that League
