Remember it was Jimbo who said JR was a future 1st round draft pick... and JR was rated the #6 QB out of high school. It's hard to imagine either one of these two sitting the bench next year.
Barring cataclysmic, Biblical level catastrophes, JaMarcus is the undisputed #1, and Flynn (if he doesn't transfer) will be the undisputed #2, and Perriloux will redshirt... There is no way a 1st year quarterback on campus for a mere 4 months or so at MOST will unseat not one but two quarterbacks who've been taught by the same offensive coordinator for the past three years... It won't happen. Sorry...This is wishful thinking created by the hype of the LOI faxed to us and NSD... LOI=Letter of Intent NSD=National Signing Day
A lot of it depends on whether Capital One Bowl JR or Florida game JR shows up next year. I still haven't seen enough of Flynn to know if he'll be in the mix.
It's never a good sign when a program has to start a true freshman at QB. IMO, Perrilloux would start only if Russell and Flynn fail, which probably means we aren't playing very well and suffered a loss or two. Can't see him walking into fall camp and winning the job outright before the first game.
Russell should without any doubt be #1 next year but he needs to wake up and start working nightly on the weights and film room. With that preperation, he could be a star next year as just a sophmore.
