He is an SEC coach and thus showed respect to the SEC. And he did not want to vote in a way that would manipulate anything in his team's favor, (unlike other coaches of questionable character).

He also voted Michigan #8 which shows that he is loyal. Saban could take a few notes from him.

He is a respectable man, but its in the conference's best interest if 2 SEC teams are in the title game, so he's also towing the company line. If you look at how all the coaches voted, all SEC coaches voted for Bama and all Big 12 coaches voted for Ok. St.

except pinkel (who voted osu #4), with mizzou's one foot out the door. that was nothing but a big f'you to the lil dozen and prick move, imo.

Maybe, but I consider them an SEC team now, so I thought it was just him towing the company line. You probably know something about it that I don't.

Actually I'd argue it's not best for 2 sec's teams to be in the championship game.

Now, we will only win 1 BCS bowl, because an SEC team has to lose, whereas if we had Okie State, and they played ... Stanford? SEC would win 2 separate BCS bowl games.

He did it because he knows that Bama and Saban are on the ropes right now, January 9th will be the knockout blow. He probably also knew that would end up all over the newspapers and Bama fans would be crying saying LSU is afraid to play them again and blah blah blah... Earn it Tide, you haven't earned sh!t.
