    Who is it?

If it's not Campeaux, are Tiger fans in for a big letdown?

If it's one of the SB teams coaches, the Pats have two excellent candidates, the LB coach (Pees) and the Dline coach (Johnson). I'd be happy w/ Campeaux, Pees or Johnson. I'm not really disappointed missing out on Gibbs, his resume looks good, but why did Shanahan fire him mid-season?

He definately didn't say it in a way that implied they "settled" (at least in the way you're trying to use it). I believe he meant it like they had DECIDED.

I know I am relatively new to this board (although I have been following it for some time) and that I haven't established any credibility with you guys...yet.

However, I just wanted to pass along information that I received earlier today...

Choose to believe, or not, but supposedly, despite what Miles said last night in his press conference, DAVE CAMPO has been chosen as the new DC. Apparently, there are some penalty provisions in his contract that prevent the public announcement until the end of the NFL season, so Miles was doing his best to "deflect" focus on Campo, although it turns out he may have misled us.

Again, don't bash me, I'm just passing along info I got. I thought it would be better to share than to just sit in silence.

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm not going to bash you because this exact scenario is what crossed my mind when I read his comments yesterday. When I posted the thread with the Houston Chronicle naming DC as DC, that is the reason I made the plea to not go hype it up all around the internet. I figured it was futile to do so, but I feared he had some kind of clause in his contract that rewarded him for staying past the end of the season, and if it was public he had 'agreed' to be LSU DC, he may lose those.

If he was about to lose those benefits, I feared he may back out...so in effect, our need to know would rob us of a good candidate. I truly hope Miles will lie to us flat out and say it is not Campo, if that will help him deflect attention.

When you wish upon a star (Will Muschamp) makes no difference who you are... anything your heart desire will come to you (but probably not).
