Our defense is the only opponent I won't mind Jarrett Lee throwing a pick six to  But seriously, our offense has consistently shown more flow with Jarrett Lee. To let him ride the bench while our starter, who isn't really good at anything drag our passing game down is a killer. So frustrating to have all this talent at WR and not being able to take advantage. I'm sure the WR's would rather have Lee at the helm but he deserves the chance to prove himself and I hope he does. The fact that he has stuck around as a backup has shown he hasn't given up and I believe he has been extremely motivated to improve and has.
My want (see what I did there?) to see Lee has nothing to do with his one pass. I cannot see how he could be worse than Jefferson. 8/20 for 100 yards is awful. Add in the INT from the red zone. However, Lee won't see the field much this year, especially in meaningful time. Code: J. Jefferson - 13 CAR - 13 YDS That is why. Lee cannot run the read option well because he doesn't have the legs (not that Jefferson is such a huge threat). Crowton LOVES mobile QBs. Remember how he ran the read option in 2008 with Lee?

JJ looked inept today. JL looked like the prototypical back up QB, fantastic with minimal play. I really wish we still had ZL I fear neither of these guys are the answer we need. Although after tonight I think JJ is not the guy just because he has not improved what so ever. He does not know the definition of progression. He doesn't go though it nor does he know what options he might have. He knows "I need to throw to guy ____ or I need to run". Hate to say it but I think we need some one smarter running our offense.
For the two games so far this season, JJ still is hanging onto the ball too long while the O-line have been giving him decent protection. It seemed like he wanted to make triply sure it is a safe pass before firing away; he is just too pensive to be any good as a passing QB, and so goes the passing game to the wayside. He seems to be run happy, and that suggests to me that he may not be as confident with his throws. I think JL has got to be given more reps; otherwise how can you ever improve in game situations? I like the fact that he slimmed down this season. And he does seem to be in better command of running the offence in the spring game. I hope the past year sitting on the pine (like Matt Flynn) allowed him to continue to learn the system and improve on his reads, and not play as "recklessly" or make the freshman mistakes of "trying too hard to make a play". I am not as scared of him continuing to have the infamous pick sixes as I feel that that was something in the long past. Why can't we give him a chance to prove that he can grow and mature? Tonight it was rather refreshing to see a different kind of zip in the ball when JL passed to Randle. And that may have opened up the running attack that led to the TD. This year with the running game looking better, this team desparately needs a RELIABLE passing attack to help set up the running game.
Les was pretty clear that Lee was playing better in practice and they would have to reevaluate playing both quarterbacks.
Neither guy is the answer as long as you have crowton up in the box. You guys keep looking for the solution you will never solve because the problem is up in the booth. If you have a good OC, Lee would offer the team the needed skills to help the team. Jefferson is not going to get you a SC or NC but he can get you 8-10 wins if you have him surrounded with top 5 talent.
Are you so sure about that with the way JJ has been carrying the offense, particularly the passing attack? We need a smart QB.
