Who takes Odom's place on the depth chart now that he is gone? He was listed as the backup to both Riley and Sheppard at OLB.

Or they might move a reserve DB into that slot. I don't think it's terribly important because we haven't gone that far down the depth chart at linebacker even once this year.

Shamori Clemmons, perhaps? Hes listed at 6'1" 217 #, so hes a bit light, but Im sure he would love some possible PT.

I think it may be Shomari too. I know there was some question whether he would be a safety or LB at first. That isn't light compared to Odom who was listed at 205. We just seem thin at LB for next year and need people to step up quickly, like Beal, if he actually signs on the dotted line. We will have 2 backups at OLB that may have never seen the field or very little of it I think.

I thought Shomari would be a LB, but from what I've heard the plan is to keep him at Safety.

We've got 3 LB commits so far this year, and Odom wasn't expected to contribute much so I don't think this really changes anything.

Shomari is still listed as a LB on the rosters I have found, but I certainly believe you. With Chad Jones already showing his ability at safety I'm a little surprised we didn't push Shomari into a LB role. Ridley was also a question mark, RB or LB, but the last report I heard was that he was playing RB. With Riley and Sheppard probably starting next year we will be young and inexperienced. I don't know if our back up at middle LB has the speed to play outside rather than just remain number 2 behind Beckwith. I sure hope Beckwith doesn't turn pro.

    FWIW

My buddy taught Ridley up in Natchez. He couldn't say enough about the kid, including he was a do-all player (O and D). I have a feeling he would jump at the chance to play any position he was offered without any reservation.
