Lapdog Media The Over coffee many years ago, the late Nelson Burchfield, a defense attorney of some experience and repute, introduced me to the $10,000 Deposit Law that would join other legal tools enabling government to go after attorneys who defend individuals accused of drug trafficking. For an example of just how low government and the lapdog media have gone in America, go to LewRockwell.com and examine Johnny Gaskins and the Lapdog Media by William L. Anderson. Innocent of any real crime, lawyer Johnny Gaskins is now facing a possible 35 year sentence, which for him is a de facto life sentence. What will it take for Americans to wake to the fact that their own government is a greater potential danger to the Individual than any foreign government could ever hope to be? Obviously, Americans consider what government can do for them, but do they ever consider what government can do to them, or to someone they care about? “An avidity to punish is always dangerous to liberty. It leads men to stretch, to misinterpret, and to misapply even the best of laws. He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.” -- Thomas Paine tgsam
I did. It's some guy's opinion. And giving it partial credit - I did find that some things seemed true, his pretentious tone of calling police tone was a bit over the top. I did find out why your venacular is... I'm gonna go ahead and say "tool-ish". Basically the writer of the article I read was a HUUUUGE fingerpointer. My favorite part was where the guy said police "stole" $5000, and he didn't bother fighting it because his defense would be more than that. Total cop-out. And saying that someone who is a "drug cartel" that just gives up his possessions because he's afraid of being prosecuted? Yeah, if I was guilty, I'd be the same way. Get off it, man.
There is no point to make, Red. Stirring the pot to get a stupid blog is where this road is going. I really do think he's trying to overthrow the government.
I am old enough to remember when such intrinsically criminal conduct by government operatives was criticized in the MSM. Back then it was the Stalinists of the Soviet Union doing it, and harmless Americans did not live in fear of their own government. Today, the MSM supports it; today an American can't even trust a jury. Sad. tgsam
There are times when it is proper to give the forum visitors the option. Exposing an evil institution is difficult at best. i spent more than a year gaining respect on the nola.com forums. But truth is patient and I did finally prevail. tgsam
