both parties (although you can only vote in the party you are registered in) You sure as hell aint gonna do it on mardi gras (and you shouldn't vote drunk anyway) so go now. EDIT: whoops, they moved our primary to saturday the 9th because of mardi gras. go vote anyway
I'm only going to vote on the 9th to cast my vote in favor of Pinnacle Entertainment in EBR. If that wasn't on the ballot, I wouldn't waste my time.
no need to worry about that here. :hihi: but i gotta make myself a note to remember to go vote on the way to the airport tuesday. cause if i forget, theres not a lot i can do about it later in the day! on a half off topic note, the last time i voted, for city bond issues, was during the ice storm when there was no power anywhere. by the time i got to go vote it was already dark. the first time i have ever voted by flashlight. i admired the precinct workers for still having a smile on their faces and being pleasant, considering they had been sitting in a cold, and then cold and dark, school cafeteria all day!
I have yet to see one tv ad by any of the candidates. Man, they really want my vote.:hihi: But the mudslinging by the two casinos trying to keep a new casino out of BR is funny as hell. They are really scared of a new casino.
Yeah it is funny. They are completely afraid of the competition. To me, if the new casino setup is like the one in Lake Charles, the 2 BR casinos have a lot to worry about.
In doing a quick search to find out more information about the Pinnacle Baton Rouge project, I ran across this article: http://www.fool.com/investing/small-cap/2007/02/23/pinnacle-the-battle-for-baton-rouge.aspx It's almost a year old, but it still is a pretty good write up analyzing the situation.
Ironically, I found myself leaning toward voting No for Pinnacle until I started seeing attack ads paid for by the other casinos. Anyone that's going to go that far to steer away competition is certainly not going to get my support.
It might put one of the other casinos out of business, but who cares? It's not like we would be losing jobs in the long run. Let the free market decide which casinos survive. Maybe all 3 can make it and BR makes more money.
